Dr. Sundar Sankaran, Program Director at Aster Institute of Renal Transplantation in Bengaluru, recently criticized HDFC for inundating him with spam calls from their loan team. He described the callers as "a nuisance" and expressed frustration over their persistence, despite his attempts to block their numbers. Sharing his experience on social media, Dr. Sankaran highlighted that even after confronting one caller, another claimed to be a manager, questioning his reaction. He urged HDFC to take action and investigate the issue, while also providing several phone numbers from which he had received the spam calls. Anay, an HDFC service manager, extended an apology to Sundar for his ordeal and requested him to send the caller details and his contact number via direct message for further assistance. Sundar responded, mentioning his previous complaint and receiving a "verbose, non-sensical" reply. Additionally, various users shared similar experiences of receiving spam calls, offering advice on how to handle them. One suggested not answering calls from unknown numbers and sending a message instead, while another shared their successful strategy of addressing the issue. A third user expressed gratitude to Sundar for sharing the numbers and planned to block them preemptively.
