UDHAMPUR: The 'Arogaya-Doctor on Wheels' program has extended its services to the Chanunta panchayat in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district, effectively addressing the healthcare needs of residents in remote villages. This initiative, tailored for geographically isolated communities, has witnessed a significant turnout of residents from Panchayat Chanunta and nearby areas benefiting from consultations with qualified doctors. By bringing medical care directly to remote regions, 'Arogya-Doctors on Wheels' have ensured access to quality healthcare for even the most vulnerable populations in Udhampur. Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh inaugurated the program in the Ramnagar area earlier on January 14. Inspired by the Prime Minister's Digital Health Mission, this initiative offers expert medical consultations at people's doorsteps through the 'Doctor on Wheels' ambulance, equipped with state-of-the-art technology to connect patients with senior doctors nationwide. This service offers much-needed relief to residents of far-flung areas in Ramnagar tehsil of District Udhampur, where conventional healthcare services are lacking, marking a significant step towards delivering healthcare via digital means. The 'Doctors on Wheels' program utilizes specially equipped ambulances staffed by trained medical professionals, including doctors, nurses, and paramedics, to deliver medical consultations, diagnostics, and treatment to people residing in rural and underserved areas.
