Mangaluru: Dr. Swati Shetty (24), a dentist and the daughter of Alvarabettu residents Ramanna Shetty and Jyothi Shetty, both prominent figures in the community, passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday morning, April 16. She had earned her dentistry degree from A J Hospital in Mangaluru. Dr. Shetty was scheduled to begin her duties at a clinic in Pandeshwara on Tuesday, prompting her to stay at her Alvarebettu residence until Sunday before relocating on Monday evening. She had moved to a PG accommodation in Pandeshwara to commence her dental practice. Tragically, she complained of a severe headache during a phone call with her mother on Monday night and expressed intention to continue their conversation the following day. Dr. Swati, unmarried and known for her achievements, tragically passed away in her sleep after suffering from a severe headache. Her roommate, noticing her cold body, promptly sought help and summoned an ambulance to Wenlock Hospital. Despite efforts, she had already passed away. Her parents, who had plans for her wedding later in the year, are left devastated by her sudden demise. Dr. Swati leaves behind her parents and a brother. Condolences poured in from various dignitaries, including RSS leaders, BJP district president Sathish Kumpala, Assembly Speaker U T Khader, and others, mourning her untimely loss.
