On Friday, Apollo Hospitals Group, India's largest integrated healthcare provider, introduced the ZAP-X Gyroscopic Radiosurgery Platform for non-invasive brain tumor treatment. The hospital stated that ZAP-X provides a pain-free, non-invasive alternative with sessions lasting only 30 minutes, boasting high precision and minimal radiation exposure. In contrast to traditional approaches, ZAP-X employs a self-shielded, gyroscopic linear accelerator design to precisely target radiation towards the intended tumor. Dr. Prathap Chandra Reddy, Founder Chairman of Apollo Hospitals Group, highlighted that for over four decades, Apollo Hospitals has been a pioneer in healthcare. He emphasized that ZAP-X enables non-invasive, pain-free sessions lasting 30 minutes, with minimal radiation exposure. The healthcare provider asserted that ZAP-X delivers remarkable success, providing effective control and relief for diverse conditions while minimizing side effects. It attains a control rate exceeding 95% over a decade with minimal facial or trigeminal side effects. Furthermore, Apollo highlighted that ZAP-X exhibits an exceptional 99.4% control rate within five years for small, well-defined tumors.
