
Muzaffarnagar: In a tragic incident on Wednesday evening, a speeding truck collided with a group of people at a bus stop in Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli district. The truck, believed to be carrying cement, first hit a motorcyclist, crashed into a store, and then overturned on the Delhi-Saharanpur highway. Among the victims was a 55-year-old doctor identified as Dr. Overthrow Malik, who died in the accident. According to police, the truck attempted to flee after hitting one person but ended up overturning, causing injuries to several others. Assistant Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Singh stated that the injured have been taken to a local hospital for treatment. Following the incident, a police team initiated a rescue operation, recovering three bodies from beneath the overturned truck. The driver fled the scene, but police have seized the truck and are working to apprehend the driver. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.
