The surgery, a first in the state, lasted approximately three hours and was successfully conducted on April 9. Dr. Suchitra Dash, the hospital's superintendent, expressed satisfaction with the outcome, noting the patient's improved condition and ongoing observation period. Principal Santosh Kumar Mishra and the hospital's superintendent extended gratitude to the medical team for their skill in performing the challenging procedure, crucial for preventing severe complications such as cardiac issues and stroke, ultimately saving the patient's life. According to Professor P. Ravi Kumar from the Endocrinology Department, the treatment involves the removal of both adrenal glands followed by lifelong low-dose steroid supplementation. The operation, which involved a multidisciplinary team including pediatric surgeons, urologists, anesthesiologists, and pediatricians, was particularly challenging.
