Erode: A tragic incident occurred near here as a doctor couple lost their lives in a road accident when their car collided with a lorry. The victims, identified as Madappan (75) and his wife Padmavathy (72), were returning home to Mettur after visiting their son in Erode on Thursday evening. The collision took place near the Ooratchi Kottai Hydel Electricity barrage, resulting in serious injuries to the couple. Despite being rushed to the Bhavani government hospital, they succumbed to their injuries. The Bhavani police have initiated an investigation into the accident and registered a case accordingly.
