Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh): Kanpur’s Laxmipat Singhania Institute of Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery has unveiled the 'Ram Kit,' an emergency kit tailored for heart patients. Following the concept of 'We Treat, He Cures,' the kit includes a photograph of Lord Ram. Becoming the first hospital in the state to do so, authorities of the Cantonment hospital in Prayagraj district will distribute the 'Ram Kit' among 5,000 families in the city from Saturday. The kit includes vital drugs and the helpline number of hospitals. Dr. S.K. Pandey, the director of Cantonment hospital, stated, "The Ram kit includes three essential medicines — Ecosprin (blood thinner), Rosuvastatin (cholesterol control), and Sorbitrate (for better heart function) — designed to provide immediate relief to individuals experiencing heart ailments." "As cases of heart disease and brain stroke rise during the winter season, the 'Ram Kit' proves invaluable to anyone requiring immediate assistance and has the potential to save lives," explained Dr. Neeraj Kumar, senior cardiologist at Laxmipat Singhania Institute of Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery. He added that the kit is named after Lord Ram due to the universal faith in his name. "Designed to provide immediate relief to heart patients with life-saving medications that thin the blood and open blocked heart veins, the 'Ram Kit' earns its fitting name, as Dr. Neeraj Kumar, senior cardiologist at Laxmipat Singhania Institute of Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, highlights. He adds that the term 'Ram Baan' signifies the ultimate solution, inspired by the belief that the Ayodhya prince never missed a target. "With a modest price tag of just Rs 7, the kit has been formulated to cater to the needs of the most economically vulnerable”, said Dr. Kumar. Dr. Pandey urged caution against relying solely on the 'Ram Kit' and staying at home when experiencing chest pain, emphasizing that the kit's purpose is to provide doctors with a crucial golden hour to save lives. Instead, patients are advised to take the prescribed medicines in the kit and promptly seek medical attention at the nearest hospital.
