Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh): Three months ago, the aspirations of a four-year-old taekwondo prodigy were crushed when her hand got caught in an escalator at the Ghaziabad railway station. However, doctors at Apollo Medics in the city formulated a recovery plan for Agrima Singh, a Taekwondo athlete who had earned a prestigious gold medal in a tournament in Noida just before the accident. Led by Dr. Nikhil Puri, the team of doctors demonstrated remarkable expertise and precision in the intricate process of reconstructing Agrima Singh's crushed hand, underscoring the urgency to restore its normal form and function. “From the moment the incident occurred, we were on edge. At one juncture, we were willing to accept the loss of a limb if it meant saving our daughter's life. Patience, faith, and the skill of the doctors have proven invaluable,” said the girl’s mother. In acknowledging their surgical expertise, Dr. Mayank Somani, the MD and CEO of the hospital, praised the team's skillful navigation through the complex network of bones, muscles, and nerves during the delicate surgery.
