More than 70 doctors attached to the Directorate of Health Services in Kashmir have been waiting for official posting orders for over four months, leaving them without salaries during this period. These doctors had completed postgraduate and super-speciality courses after receiving official permission, but have not been assigned to any health institutions since October.

Despite repeated assurances from authorities, the delay in issuing posting orders has continued. The doctors say their names were forwarded to the concerned department for further action, but no concrete steps have been taken so far. As a result, many of them are facing financial difficulties and professional uncertainty.

The situation has also raised concerns about the healthcare system, as government hospitals continue to face a shortage of specialist doctors. While patients struggle to access specialised medical care, trained professionals remain without work due to administrative delays.

The affected doctors have urged senior officials in the health department to intervene and resolve the issue at the earliest by issuing posting orders and releasing pending salaries. They say timely action would not only ease their hardship but also strengthen public healthcare services in the region.
