Dehradun: A third-year MBBS student, Kanuraj Singh from Dehradun, has been accused of intentional insult, using offensive words to insult the modesty of a woman, and physical assault. The charges stem from an incident where Singh allegedly misbehaved with Dr. Chitra Joshi, the head of the gynaecology department at Doon Hospital, over an attendance issue. Dr. Anurag Agrawal, the medical superintendent of the hospital, filed a complaint against Singh, stating that he had previously been involved in similar acts. According to a doctor familiar with the matter, Singh entered Dr. Joshi's office and verbally abused her after receiving a notice for low attendance. Security assistants intervened, but they too were subjected to verbal abuse and some were physically assaulted. Assistant Sub-Inspector Gopal Singh Bisht, who is leading the investigation, stated that a probe has been initiated, and all involved parties will be questioned. No detentions have been made thus far.
