Kozhikode, June 14, 2025 — Marking World Blood Donor Day, Velby, in collaboration with Vellnez Foundation Trust, has officially launched India’s first AI-powered Smart Blood Donation Network. This innovation, available through the Velby App, aims to revolutionize the blood donation process by intelligently connecting donors, recipients, blood banks, and volunteer organizations through a streamlined digital ecosystem.

The Velby App uses advanced algorithms to notify only eligible donors based on blood type, location, and previous donation history. It enables pre-booking of donation slots, reducing overcrowding and wait times at blood camps. The app also facilitates real-time blood requests and displays live blood bank inventories to help those in urgent need avoid delays. Donors are rewarded with e-certificates and wellness credits, while volunteer organizations receive digital tools to track member contributions and manage outreach.

Dr. Ajil Abdulla, Executive Director of Vellnez Foundation Trust and CEO of Velby, described the platform as “the digital backbone of a modern, ethical blood ecosystem.” He called on blood banks and volunteer groups nationwide to join this smarter mission, which has already seen participation from organizations in the Middle East and various Indian states.
