Patients and medical staff at Delhi's Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital have been facing severe inconvenience due to persistent lift failures and a breakdown of the air conditioning system. The situation has raised serious concerns, especially as the hospital caters to a high patient load on a daily basis. Long queues formed near the non-functioning lifts, forcing many to climb multiple flights of stairs—an especially difficult task for elderly and physically challenged patients.

Doctors and other healthcare workers are equally affected, as many departments are located on higher floors of the multi-storey hospital. With the AC systems not working, both patients and staff have been left to endure rising temperatures inside wards and waiting areas. A senior doctor mentioned that it is becoming increasingly difficult to work efficiently under such conditions, particularly during peak OPD hours.

Despite repeated complaints from hospital staff, no permanent solution has been implemented so far. While temporary repairs are reportedly being carried out, medical professionals at GTB Hospital urge authorities to take immediate and long-term action to ensure the safety and comfort of both patients and caregivers. The issue not only disrupts medical services but also risks worsening health outcomes for vulnerable patients.
