New Delhi: A tragic incident unfolded on Saturday evening in Sector 55 of Faridabad, resulting in the death of 24-year-old optometrist Izma Saifi. While on her way home from work at a local hospital, her scooter was struck from behind by a tractor. Izma fell off her scooter and was fatally run over by the tractor. Despite immediate efforts to rush her to a nearby hospital, she was pronounced dead upon arrival. Passersby at the scene managed to note down the registration number of the fleeing tractor, aiding the police investigation. Izma's father, Parvez Saifi, who was riding a few meters behind her, witnessed the tragic event unfold. In his complaint to the authorities, Parvez Saifi emphasized the reckless driving behavior of the tractor, urging for strict legal action against the responsible party. The driver of the tractor, identified as Parambir, was charged under sections 304-a and 279 of the Indian Penal Code for causing death due to negligence and rash driving on a public road, respectively. Parambir was arrested by the police on Sunday and presented in court the same day, where he was granted bail. During interrogation, he admitted to driving negligently, further strengthening the case against him.
