New Delhi: The National Medical Commission's (NMC) anti-ragging cell has taken proactive measures by establishing a national task force dedicated to addressing the mental health and well-being concerns among medical students. As part of their initiatives, the task force has devised a comprehensive online survey using Google Forms. This survey aims to gather valuable insights from both medical students and faculty members across various medical colleges in India. The deadline for submitting responses to the survey is scheduled for May 3, 2024. It is emphasized that the confidentiality of all participants will be rigorously maintained, with no disclosure of identities to any external parties. The data collected will be strictly utilized by the task force for thorough analysis and formulation of recommendations within its forthcoming report.
Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs) have appealed to the National Medical Commission (NMC) for permission to undertake internship programs at non-teaching hospitals, in a bid to accommodate a larger pool of qualified FMGs. The FMG association has emphasized several challenges faced by its members, including the extension of the internship period from two to three years and delays in initiation by the State Medical Councils (SMCs).
