മംഗളൂരു: പ്രശസ്ത പ്രൊഫസറും യൂറോളജി വിഭാഗം മേധാവിയുമായ ഡോ.ലക്ഷ്മൺ പ്രഭു (62) അന്തരിച്ചു. കഴിഞ്ഞ ആഴ്ച്ച കസ്തൂർബ മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജ് (കെ.എം.സി) ആശുപത്രിയിൽ ഡ്യൂട്ടി ചെയ്യുന്നതിനിടെ ഡോക്ടർ പ്രഭുവിന് നെഞ്ചുവേദന അനുഭവപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. തുടർന്ന്, ഇതേ ആശുപത്രിയിൽ തന്നെ തീവ്രപരിചരണ വിഭാഗത്തിൽ ഇദ്ദേഹത്തെ പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചു. എന്നാൽ നവംബർ 17ന് ചികിത്സയോട് പ്രതികരിക്കാതെ ഡോ. പ്രഭു മരണത്തിന് കീഴടങ്ങുകയായിരുന്നു. ഡോ. പ്രഭുവിന് ഭാര്യയും ഒരു മകനും മകളുമുണ്ട്. 36 വർഷത്തെ വിപുലമായ അനുഭവസമ്പത്തുള്ള ഡോ. പ്രഭു തൻ്റെ വൈദഗ്ധ്യം മംഗളൂരുവിലെ കസ്തൂർബ മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജ് & ഹോസ്പിറ്റലിന് വേണ്ടി സമർപ്പിച്ചു. സൂക്ഷ്മമായ ശ്രദ്ധയ്ക്കും കൃത്യമായ രോഗനിർണ്ണയത്തിനും അനുകമ്പയോടെയുള്ള രോഗി പരിചരണത്തിനും ഡോ. പ്രഭു അംഗീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടു. മികച്ച പ്രാസംഗികനും, വിദഗ്ധ സ്റ്റാമ്പ് കളക്ടറും, തപാൽ വകുപ്പിലെ ഫിലാറ്റലി സൊസൈറ്റി അംഗവുമായിരുന്നു ഇദ്ദേഹം. എം.ബി.ബി.എസ്, എം.എസ് ജനറൽ സർജറി, എം.സി.എച്ച് ജെനിറ്റോറിനറി സർജറി, ഡി.എൻ.ബി യൂറോളജി എന്നിവയിൽ ബിരുദമുള്ള ഡോ. പ്രഭു 2022-ൽ യൂറോളജിക്കൽ സൊസൈറ്റി ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യയുടെ (യു.എസ്.ഐ) സെക്രട്ടറിയായി തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടു. ഡോ പ്രഭുവിൻ്റെ നിര്യാണത്തിൽ കെ.എം.സി ആശുപത്രി മാനേജ്മെന്റും ഡോക്ടർമാരും ജീവനക്കാരും അനുശോചനം രേഖപ്പെടുത്തി
