
Patna: Two suspects were detained by Patna Police on Thursday for allegedly threatening a prominent orthopedic surgeon in the city and demanding money from him. Bharat Soni, the City SP (East) of Patna, verified the case, stating that the accused had contacted Dr. Anand Singh, the proprietor of a hospital in the Kankarbagh locality. Subsequent to the extortion call, the victim proceeded to the Kankarbagh police station and filed a First Information Report (FIR) against the accused. "We have promptly commenced the investigation through both technical and manual methods, such as reviewing CCTV footage and placing the mobile number under surveillance. The accused, identified as Roshan Singh and Abhishek Kumar, have been traced. They have been charged under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC)," stated Soni. In the course of the inquiry, it emerged that the two accused had arrived at the hospital on a motorcycle to observe the victim's movements on Wednesday evening. Soni remarked, "We have seized an air gun commonly employed for bird hunting, a bullet bike, and two mobile phones from their possession." The accused further confessed to their engagement in extortion at the local level. As a result, the police lodged two FIRs against each of them in separate police stations.
