A senior resident doctor, identified as Abhirami Balakrishnan, aged approximately 30 and originally from Vellanad, was discovered deceased in a flat near Ulloor on Tuesday. She had been working in the Department of Medicine at Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College. Found unconscious on a bed in her rented flat in PT Chacko Nagar, Ulloor, where she lived alone as a paying guest, her death is suspected to be due to intravenous injection of an unknown substance, indicated by the presence of a syringe near her body. Although unconfirmed, there are reports suggesting a possible overdose of anaesthesia. The incident unfolded when Abhirami's mother, Remadevi, unable to reach her daughter, contacted the house owner, Biju, who then discovered Abhirami's lifeless body after breaking open the door. She was subsequently pronounced dead at the Government Medical College Hospital. Abhirami had been married to Pratheesh, a doctor from Kollam, for approximately five months.

പാലക്കാട്: പാലക്കാട്ട് ആയുർവേദ ഡോക്ടർ (32) സ്വന്തം വീട്ടിൽ വെച്ച് ആത്മഹത്യ ചെയ്തു. ഇക്കഴിഞ്ഞ ഓഗസ്റ്റ് 22-ന് രാത്രി 9-നും 10.45-നും ഇടയിൽ ആയിരുന്നു സംഭവം നടന്നത്. വാഷ് റൂമിൽ തൂങ്ങി മരിച്ച നിലയിൽ ആയിരുന്നു ഡോക്ടറെ കണ്ടത്. ഉടൻ തന്നെ കൂട്ടനാട്ടിലെ ഒരു സ്വകാര്യ ആശുപത്രിയിൽ ഇവരെ എത്തിച്ചെങ്കിലും രക്ഷിക്കാനായില്ല.
