Doctors across the country have appealed to the Union Health Ministry to expedite the counselling process for NEET PG 2025, which has been delayed for months. The Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) stated that the prolonged uncertainty is affecting both medical education and healthcare delivery nationwide. Thousands of postgraduate aspirants are waiting anxiously for the counselling schedule to be announced.
In a letter to the Health Minister, FORDA highlighted that the delay in admissions is not merely an administrative issue but has wider implications for the healthcare system. The association warned that the non-filling of postgraduate medical seats on time could result in a shortage of trained doctors in hospitals, ultimately disrupting patient care services.
Doctors also pointed out that such delays have become a recurring issue in recent years, leading to extended academic sessions and overlapping training cycles. This, they said, adds unnecessary pressure on medical institutions and hinders the smooth transition of new doctors into the healthcare workforce.
FORDA urged the ministry to take immediate steps to announce the counselling dates and begin the admission process without further delay. The association expressed hope that the government will act promptly to ensure that postgraduate students can start their training on time and strengthen the healthcare delivery system across the country.
