Haryana doctors have decided to go ahead with a strike on December 8 and 9 after talks with the state Health Minister ended inconclusively. The strike will affect all services, including OPD, emergency care, surgeries, post-mortems, and VIP duties.
Members of the Haryana Civil Medical Services Association are demanding that senior medical officer posts be filled by promotion rather than direct recruitment. They also want the revised Assured Career Progression structure formally implemented, which has been approved but not notified.
A recent meeting between the doctors and Health Minister Arti Rao ended without any firm commitments. While the minister acknowledged their concerns, no clear solutions or timelines were offered.
HCMSA officials warned that if their demands are not addressed by December 9, they may launch an indefinite strike starting December 10. The move could cause major disruptions in government hospitals across Haryana, affecting patients statewide.
