Nearly 50 doctors from top medical institutes in Lucknow have started their summer vacation after tensions between India and Pakistan began to ease. These doctors are from well-known hospitals like King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI), Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS), and the Cancer Institute.
Earlier, doctors had cancelled or delayed their vacation plans due to the rising conflict between the two countries. Many of them were waiting for things to calm down before leaving. Now that the situation has improved, they have resumed their travel plans and are taking time off for much-needed rest and family visits.
Hospital officials confirmed that all departments are functioning smoothly even though some doctors are on leave. The hospitals had prepared backup plans to ensure that patient care does not suffer. Authorities have also mentioned that doctors who had earlier postponed their leave will now be allowed to go on vacation in turns to maintain proper medical services.
