The Telangana State Medical Council (TSMC) has intensified efforts to eliminate unqualified medical practitioners in Nalgonda district. In recent inspections, 14 clinics were found to be operated by individuals without proper medical qualifications. These fake doctors, posing as Registered Medical Practitioners (RMPs) or Private Medical Practitioners (PMPs), were providing treatments and prescribing medications without the necessary credentials. The TSMC has filed First Information Reports (FIRs) against these clinics under Sections 34 and 54 of the National Medical Commission Act, which could lead to imprisonment of up to one year and fines reaching ₹5 lakh. 

During the raids, officials discovered that these unqualified individuals were administering antibiotics, steroids, and even performing unauthorized medical procedures, including illegal abortions. Such practices not only endanger patient lives but also violate medical ethics and laws. The TSMC emphasized that practicing allopathic medicine without an MBBS degree is illegal, and actions are being taken to shut down these unauthorized clinics. 

This crackdown is part of a broader initiative by the TSMC to address the growing issue of quackery in Telangana. Over the past year, the council has registered over 400 FIRs against fake doctors across the state. The TSMC urges the public to verify the credentials of medical practitioners and report any suspicious activities to authorities. Ensuring that only qualified professionals provide medical care is crucial for public health and safety.
