Doctors at a hospital in New Delhi managed to revive a one-day-old baby boy who was found abandoned in a park in the city’s Greater Kailash area with no heartbeat and in a critical state. Members of a local Resident Welfare Association found the infant and handed him over to police, who rushed him to Fortis La Femme hospital for urgent care. Upon arrival, the newborn showed signs of severe hypothermia, had stopped breathing, and was in danger of imminent death. 

The emergency and neonatal teams, led by senior specialists, immediately initiated life-saving measures. The baby was intubated for breathing support, given CPR twice, and provided IV fluids and a blood transfusion due to significant blood loss. Within hours of intensive care, his condition began to stabilize. Over the following days, he continued to improve and eventually made a full recovery. 

Hospital officials described the case as extraordinary and highlighted the quick, coordinated efforts of the doctors, nurses, and clinical staff that brought the child back from the brink. They stressed the importance of prompt medical attention in life-threatening situations like this. Following government protocols, the baby was handed over to authorities for further protective care. 

The incident also underscores wider social issues, as India has a significant number of abandoned children, with Delhi reporting high numbers of such cases in past years.
