Doctors at Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad successfully carried out a minimally invasive keyhole surgery on a seven-year-old child to treat a spleen injury caused by an accident. The procedure was completed without complications, and the child is now recovering under close observation.
The medical team explained that using the laparoscopic technique allowed them to operate with smaller incisions, reduced pain, and a faster recovery period compared to conventional open surgery. They confirmed that the child’s condition remained stable throughout the procedure.
Hospital authorities said the case highlights the growing adoption of advanced surgical methods in government hospitals. They also stressed the significance of early diagnosis, coordinated teamwork and modern equipment in handling paediatric trauma cases.
The successful surgery has brought relief to the child's family and strengthened confidence among the hospital staff in managing complex procedures in young patients. The hospital stated that it aims to continue expanding minimally invasive surgical options for children in the coming years.
