Government doctors in Tamil Nadu have announced a protest march from Salem to Chennai to demand better pay and benefits. The march is being organized by the Federation of Government Doctors Association (FOGDA), which includes over 20,000 medical professionals from across the state. Their main demand is to restore the Dynamic Assured Career Progression (DACP) system, which ensures timely salary increases and promotions.
The doctors argue that the current salary structure does not reflect their workload and years of service. They also claim that repeated discussions with authorities have failed to bring any results. As a result, they have decided to walk around 350 kilometers from Salem to the state capital, starting the march on June 13. The protest will be peaceful, and the doctors plan to stop at various towns along the way to raise awareness about their issues.
This is not the first time government doctors have taken such action. In the past, they have held strikes and silent protests, but their demands remain unaddressed. The upcoming march aims to pressure the state government to review their pay structure and offer a fair solution to long-standing concerns.
